Launch of a new energy drink brand
Branding task from the difficult category
The new PowerDuck energy drink simply Gives a Kick. In this extremely competitive segment, it is essential to stand out – first and foremost with a brand idea. We were responsible for creating the brand’s communication concept (except for the name), selecting the brandface, designing packaging, POS materials, event identification, the website and social media.
Identity, brand name and visual style
When positioning the brand, we were looking for a niche, a segment, and together with the Brand Owner, we decided that the target group of the brand would be people interested in and connected with the rapidly developing MMA market in Poland.
While working on the brand identity and message, we created 2 conceptual lines based on the brand’s brandface, Borys Mańkowski. The Brand Owner’s guideline was to use a funny character of a “duck” and the name PowerDuck.
In the first line, we proposed a slogan: Kills fatigue. In the image, we used a dark style, muted colors and the KSW Champion suggesting “dealing with fatigue”.
In lines 2 and 3 we created the Slogan: Give a kick to tiredness., and in the Image: we used a combination of drawing a “suggestive kick” and the character of Boris.
The final, chosen variant is a certain compilation of Boris’ energy and strength with elements of the “Duck Kick” as a smile-inducing brand symbol.
Brandface straight from KSW
We managed to convince the then KSW Champion Borys Mańkowski to cooperate. When choosing him, we were guided by his current recognition (just before the fight with Mamed Khalidov) and extremely positive reception (he is an exceptionally nice, liked and positive person). For the project, we carried out an image photo session with Borys Mańkowski. The photos in motion, in a specific atmosphere, “giving a kick” gave him and us great joy.
Website with enormous power
The visual concept of the website was built in close connection with the presentation of the product and its connection with the brandface of Borys Mańkowski. The website was strictly image-related, and additionally had an extensive news module related to sponsored MMA galas.
