A new direction for your brand

Every brand at some point encounters a growth barrier. If you touch the “ceiling” of your revenue-building capabilities on the market or see a need to improve product profitability – it’s a sign that it’s time for a change. We analyze the market, customer portfolio and competition to identify key barriers. We create a strategy that restores growth dynamics, coheres the offer and strengthens the brand’s position.

How has brand revitalization opened up new opportunities?

W.Legutko is a company with huge growth potential with 30 years of tradition, a leader in the market of horticultural seed production. The development of the brand was hampered by many factors, including the logo and visual identification that did not reflect the current strength of the brand and a complicated portfolio with a very extensive product offer. Working on changing the brand’s image, together with Grant Thornton, we began a series of analyses and audits aimed at maintaining the brand’s key success factors. Brands with a strong market position and many years of history have enormous value, which is why we are extremely careful when recommending changes. We simply take care not to spoil the Client’s achievements.

The changes resulted in the development of a strategic roadmap, the organization of the brand identity (we use this word intentionally, because we drew heavily on the history and culture developed over the years),  new visual identification (new logo, brand colors), and the design of all elements of brand communication (print collateral, catalogs and displays, social media, websites, e-commerce).   After conducting the “strategic organization”, we developed and conducted a brand recognition program called # Zdroworosną with MasterChef Junior. Thanks to this, within 2 years W.Legutko became the image leader in its market segment.

The strategic goal of working with the Client was not only to develop a new brand image but also to achieve a long-term effect, i.e. to rebuild the structures of the Marketing Department and increase the quality of operation.

Our role in this process included researching and developing a workflow for cooperation between the Marketing Department and other Departments (sales, logistics, export). We prepared and implemented a file archiving system and online communication tools that increased the company’s security and improved communication within marketing subprojects. In addition, we conducted a series of training courses (including practical use of brandguide, working with packaging and preparation for the sales season). Our tasks also included recruiting a Marketing Department manager.

The path from analysis to an effective brand strategy

    Delivery time: 9-12 months
Our cooperation is a joint journey – we not only create documents and projects but above all help to effectively implement them in your company. Each stage is a precisely planned step that builds a coherent, inspiring identity of your company and opens new development opportunities.

    let's talk
Stage 1. Market and brand situation analysis We conduct a brand communication audit (we analyze revenues, profitability, expertly evaluate the current brand communication, examine distribution channels and opinions about the brand in digital), competition research (we conduct store check, analyze competitors' packaging, their pricing strategy, strong and weak points in communication, create a perception map showing the client's brand against competitors in terms of brand message and signals). We identify strengths and weaknesses, and the aim of our work is to create a picture of the market in terms of image, in order to find space to distinguish your brand on the market.
Stage 2. Strategic workshops Together with your design team, we develop solutions - we want the Brand Owner and his team to be co-creators of the concept and understand all the details. Thanks to this, Employees become true Brand Ambassadors.
Stage 3. Defining key differentiators We define what makes your brand unique. We work on its message, the so-called brand core, and create a map of its unique rational and emotional values.
Stage 4. Proposed changes and action plan We develop a brand refresh strategy – usually a mix of activities tailored to your needs, such as a facelift of visual identification, a change in the product offer, a new way of communicating or implementing innovative digital solutions.
Stage 5. Creation of a brand concept With a clear plan and a built brand identity, we design brand signals, i.e. the logo (sometimes we leave it unchanged), change the colors, design a unique brand language and visual style, the so-called KeyVisual. In the case of several target groups of brand communication (the so-called Personas), we design visual concepts dedicated to them.
Stage 6. Preparation of implementation and change roadmap We create a detailed plan for implementing changes in the brand and prepare materials that are the basis for consistent communication, i.e. the Brand Book and Brandguide. We help avoid mistakes and support effective communication of changes.
Stage 7. We train and improve marketing processes In the process of working with the brand, we diagnose areas in which we can improve marketing activities. We do not compete with the team within your company, rather we try to find an ally in us who can help them develop their skills and take the next step in their career. Together with the team, we develop internal workflows, help measure indicators of marketing activities, create systems for archiving and organizing work and documents, and implement online tools to improve marketing processes.

    frequently asked questions

When conducting the branding process, we focus primarily on proper communication with current Clients – so that they understand and accept the changes in the brand’s image. In the next step, we explore new target groups or expand the reach.

Yes, we are preparing an implementation strategy that allows for gradual changes.

Yes, in addition to graphic designs, you will receive a strategy and specific recommendations on how to implement changes in the company. We divide the entire process into specific tasks that you assign and we implement together with your team.

Depending on the specific need and task we need different information, after signing the NDA we usually receive:

    Part 1 – Strategic Area

    1. Data on the company’s strategic assumptions – if they are not described, we hold a series of meetings with the Management Board and managers, the purpose of which is to develop or organize a strategy document
    2. Sales plan with historical data
    3. Product portfolio with prices
    4. Description of customer groups with their segmentation
    5. Research on customers (brand recognition, opinions about the brand)

Part 2 – Brand Communication Area

Before analysing the materials provided, we conduct an expert assessment of the brand’s communication (we check its presence on the Internet – Google, social media, industry websites, PR activities and analyse websites, mobile applications and e-commerce). Later, based on the materials received, we read the brand’s signals and look for its key strengths and good practices to maintain them in future communication.

    1. Brand book and brandguide (if any)
    2. Information materials such as excerpts, presentations, prints
    3. POS materials
    4. Access to statistics (google analytics, other tools)
    5. Brand recognition research (if conducted)

Part 3 – Competitor Analysis Area

You provide us with the names and addresses of key competitors. In the case of work on foreign markets, we conduct an in-depth interview with an expert from a given market and, based on his information, we create a map of competitors.

    1. Competitors’ packaging (if your company conducts periodic research)
    2. Your brand vs. competitors research (if conducted)

No, we help throughout the entire process – from strategy to final implementation. If you have an idea, we will work it out together.

We make sure that your involvement is minimal. You make key decisions during meetings, and we take care of the rest. Thanks to this, you have full control over the quality of our activities, without having to get involved in the details every day. The real involvement of Decision Makers in the process is 5-7 meetings of about 1.5-2 hours each.

Yes, our process is flexible. At every stage you can make adjustments so that the final result perfectly matches your expectations.

An offer of an effective brand strategy

Our offer includes consulting, training, creative work and implementation of digital tools. We operate differently than most advertising agencies – our goal is to conduct the consulting process, increase the value and quality of your brand’s communication and increase the efficiency of your Marketing Department.

Strategy We have a strong team of experts with international experience in brand management. We provide strategic consulting and build effective brand communication plans. We can combine strategy with unique creation.
Creative brand concepts We design all brand signals (names, graphic signs, colors, key visuals, i.e. the so-called visual style of the brand, we design illustrations, packaging, create video styles and sound characteristic of the brand).
We codify brands In our language, this means translating the concept into design guidelines that your graphic designers and Suppliers can use. As part of codification, we create Brand Books and Brandguide and perform color tests in various forms of brand color notation.
We design prints and utility materials In our history we have designed very non-standard identification elements, because each industry has its own requirements. We will design any prints, utility elements, employee uniforms or car markings.
Space and interior markings We design access markings, space markings (e.g. signs) as well as the interiors of supermarkets (e.g. the Billa chain), restaurants (e.g. Whiskey in the Jar) or retail outlets (e.g. Enexon electrical wholesalers).
Packaging We create matrices, strategically organize product portfolios, assign attributes and distinguish segments in the portfolio. We prepare Guides for packaging design (including selecting materials, methods of closing, labeling, designing collective packaging) and technical guidelines in cooperation with Packaging Manufacturers.
POS We design displays and materials supporting the sale of your brand's products/services.
Content, photo sessions and video materials Content is key in brand creation, we can build it for you in its entirety or support your team by producing part of it. We design intros and openings, shoot corporate materials, document important events or implementations, create brand music.
Social media and Google We create strategies for brand presence in social media and Google activities (without running them), we design post type patterns, Google Ads ads, we create animations and unique graphic elements for video production for social media.
We design websites, mobile and e-commerce applications We create both technical implementation documentation and graphically design clickable desktop and mobile prototypes. You can receive ready-to-implement, image-consistent graphic designs from us to implement with your development team. However, if you do not have the time or team, our sister company eFresh will implement digital solutions for you.
