    Copywriting and SEO copywriting – do you know the differences?

    Since there is no Polish equivalent for the position of copywriter, the English form has become permanent. The difficulty, however, is not the foreign name, but defining what exactly a copywriter and SEO copywriter do.

    There is a saying that every copywriter can be an SEO copywriter, but not every SEO copywriter can be a copywriter. This is a bit of a butter-butter definition, but it illustrates the issue at hand well.

    Copywriting is defined as the art of creative marketing texts (slogans, naming, commercials, titles, etc.). Its idea is to promote a company, product, or person using the written word.

    Initially, a copywriter created advertising slogans and taglines. Over time, the scope of a copywriter’s work expanded to include creating texts for the Internet, advertising, and SEO.

    SEO, or… what?

    A good SEO copywriter should have knowledge of website positioning. There is a misconception that anyone can do it, which results in ads offering a złoty (!) for 1,000 characters written. This leads to a situation in which the resulting content is of very low quality.

    The preposition SEO refers mainly to creating content that will translate into a greater number of visitors to a given page. To do this, they must contain an appropriate number of keywords, which are the essence of SEO texts. A professional, educated SEO copywriter is distinguished by knowledge of the secrets of website positioning and optimization.

    Good SEO copywriters are worth their weight in gold today. Many companies need good content on their website that will be able to interest and retain the user. A well-written SEO text is characterized by the fact that it will place a given page at the top of search results.

    The difference between SEO copywriting and a “regular” copywriter is that in the case of the latter, the text is primarily intended to provide information, knowledge, and promote a brand or person through catchy names or slogans. SEO texts are guided by a slightly different idea. Their task is to increase the traffic generated by the search engine, which translates into a high position for the website and its popularity.
