When thinking about rebranding, you have certainly become familiar with two concepts: the Book of Characters, also known as the Style Book and the Brandbook. In short, there is no difference between a brand guide and a style guide. Both terms are used interchangeably in the industry. It is a matter of preference. However, I will explain the entire connection between these concepts and tell you why you should think of them as one coherent whole.

What does a brand style guide really include and how does it fit into the overall brand communication strategy?

A brandbook is a tool for your brand. It is what your customers see in their minds when they hear the name of the company you represent. The meaning of all the work you do is given by the Brandbook. This book makes your brand understandable and repeatable.

A brandbook is nothing more than a style guide with the addition of a content guide. Visual styles show how to design all the content, and content styles control the way copy and text are created in the project. Thanks to this, we provide consistency to new projects, save time and money on graphic work.

Brandbook = Visual Styles + Content Styles

This can be compared to creative work. Content is the setting and structure of the work, and styles fill our work with color, which are clearly defined for a given brand.
